(KL-107) Wireless Voice Command Notice Board

This project deals about an advanced hi-tech wireless notice board. Notice Board is the basic regular utility in any institution / organization and public places like bus stations, railway stations and exhibition parks wherein sticking various notices day-to-day is quite a difficult process.

The main objective of this project is to develop a wireless notice board that displays notices in real time when a message is sent from remote place by the mobile phone through voice command message. the remote operation is achieved by Bluetooth device of smart-phone/Tablet etc., with Android OS, upon a GUI (Graphical User Interface) based voice operation. Transmitting end uses an Android application based on Bluetooth device through which commands are transmitted. At the receiver end, a Bluetooth module receive it and serially transmit to the microcontroller and these commands are converted to texts used which are displayed on a big (20X4) LCD display which is interfaced to the microcontroller. Thus any messages from remote person can be displayed over wireless serial communication.

The program on the microcontroller refers to the serial data to display the received data on (20X4) LCD, while the messages text are greater than (20x4) size, the display shows first 20x4 size text of entire message for some time delayed then erase it and shows next text remaining in further 20x4 text limit and such a way entire message is displayed until the last character of message.

Here we use the power supply consists of a step-down transformer 230/12V, rectifier and +5 volt regulator 7805, which is required for the operation of the microcontroller and other components. A rechargeable battery also can be used as power source for remote placed notice board.

(KL-113) Voice Controlled Home / Office Automation

The main aim of this project is to develop a compact and user friendly device to enable the controlling of home-office appliances wirelessly which reduce human labour, effort, time as well, it helps to old ages and the physically challenged people who can not move their limbs but can speak and listen also can be able to control the various appliances in home or office with ease just by the voice commands according to their need and comfort. This project proposed a micro controller based voice controlled automation system using smart phones which will enable users to have control over every appliance in home or office with their voice over an Android smart phone.


The project design involves an Arduino microcontroller, which processes the user commands and controls the switching of devices. The connection between the microcontroller and the smart phone is established via Bluetooth, a widespread wireless technology used for sharing data. The voice recognizer which is an in built feature of Android phones is used to build an application where in the microphone button is tapped and the voice command is given to switch the corresponding device on/off. The voice recognizer listens and converts what is said to the nearest matching words or text. The Bluetooth adapter present in the phone is configured to send this text to the Bluetooth module interfaced to the microcontroller that would in turn control the electrical appliances through the 12 volt dc relay which is operated by an opto-isolated relay driver IC ULN2003.


This project can be further enhanced by replacing a wireless device with the WiFi module or GSM modem for controlling the devices wirelessly from long distance remote place.

(KL-115) Digital Audio-Visual Informatics System for Professional Seminar & Public Place

The advance development in technology and its application to our society, as well entertain to people is inspired to create this innovative smart digital system. The main aim of this project is to create a system or device and makes the more interactive and interesting visual and audio information to viewers and that would be also user friendly to all categories of people.

This project is designed using a low power consume advance microcontroller that interfaces with a computer transitions visual screen based on hand motions using a pair of IR sensors (Left and Right hand). Upon sensing a hand motion, the output signal of IR sensor is triggered to generate external interrupt signal to microcontroller. The programmed code for interrupt in microcontroller would decide and send a hex code to PC for either left or right key stroke through serial USB Connection. A specific Visual basic application is developed and run on PC. Upon received a hex code, it is linked to the user’s power point presentation file which is run on PC through this visual basic application. Thus any Audio and visual slide presentation can be remotely scrolled through hand gesture.


Any message or information in text form can be communicated remotely to this system over Bluetooth and android application operate mobile,tablet or PC. A Bluetooth device is interfaced to microcontroller to receive the remote text data which is displayed on LCD display. Also, it can be audible on speaker connected to the system. The received text message is converted to voice by a text to voice module interfaced to microcontroller.


The controller is also a very good way to save electricity as it allows displays to idle and turn off when no one is near by the device by interfacing a PIR sensor. Upon detecting the approach of a person nearby PIR Sensor, the controller send a keystroke to the computer which awakes up the display, it also count the number of person interact to the system.


Thus, this system is very interesting and user friendly for public place and professional seminar, where user can play the audio –visual display just by hand gesture and convey the message-information to viewers remotely.

(KL-118) Android Speech Recognition Based Wireless Voice Command information and device control

(KL-211) Antitheft Security by Operate Safety device using Android Application and Safety Sensors

Today we are living in 21st century where security is playing important role in human life. This project proposes a design of flexible standalone, low cost smart home/industrial system, which is based on the Android communicating with the Arduino microcontroller Platform providing home/industrial security and emergency system to be activated. Devices such as light/fan switches, door motor, Touch sensor, intrusion detection sensors, and sirens have been integrated in the system.

 The main objective of this project home/industrial antitheft security and reporting is to help handicapped and old aged people who will enable them to control home appliance and alert them in critical situations. The project design is able to successfully perform the smart operations such as switching functionalities, automatic environmental control and intrusion detection, in the latter case where message will be come to your smart phone and the siren goes on. As well as we can control functionalities by android application.

 The project design involves an Arduino microcontroller interfaced to a blue tooth module and safety sensors, which monitor the sensor status and processes the user commands and controls the switching of devices. A capacitive touch sensor is used for antitheft security purpose, it sense the human touch and alert it, so placing it at the desired security zone/area. A PIR motion sensor is used to monitor the human movement for intrusion detection. The connection between the microcontroller and the smart phone is established via Bluetooth, a widespread wireless technology used for sharing data. The android application run in the phone is configured to send the text command to the Bluetooth module interfaced to the microcontroller that would in turn control the device  for security/safety purpose, such that switching lights of specific area, closing a main door operated by 12 volt dc relay through an opto-isolated relay driver interfaced to the microcontroller.

 This project can be further enhanced by replacing a wireless device with the WiFi module or GSM modem, also can involving more safety sensors.
